Colher is the first typeface released by Eurico Sá Fernandes. It started to be designed in the beginning of 2010 as a bespoke typeface for his self-initiated project about Portuguese graphic design called Colher (www.colher.net). Initially the typeface wasn’t rounded, not until last year. The heart of this typeface is the exploration of the geometric contemporary forms based on a minimal grid, which is composed by a proportion of four units high by two units wide. The limitations of this grid and links provided a new character for this typeface to meet the qualities of a display typeface. In the last year the section of glyphs was increased in order for it to become a retail typeface.

Last night I went to a gig of my brother’s band, “The Crawlers”, and I’m very impressed with their performance. There is a video of their last music in this concert and I hope you like it.
Actualy me and Mariana are developing the cover for their first EP, and also you can check their website I designed and developed last january, www.thecrawlers.info.

For our major project in this first year at LCC we have been request to create a book with content created in the workshops and there extensions with a specific binding, format and also needs to have a dust-jacket/poster. My book is more based in the extensions I made from the workshops. With my book besides the workshops I also explore a different technic of printing, the color printed in Inkjet and all the black in Laserjet. This technic is prefect but I really like it. I hope you also like it.

I have been invited by Antonio Castilhos, director of Computer Arts Portugal to be the new editor of the magazine. I already start work with the all team in number 8 and following issues of Computer Arts Portugal. I’m really happy and glad with that :)

In one day of the last weeks I made a jurney into the art exhibitions in Shoreditch area. Of all this two are my favorites: Amos at KK Outlet and Kurt Tong at Kemistry Gallery.

Last spring me and Mariana went to London Zine Symposion, a really nice zine fair and a good oportunity to buy new goodies for our bookshelf. These are some publication we bought.

We also have pick up some free goddies at the fair.
